Derby Course by Division

Hoigaard's Paddle Derby uses a mass start. All boats line up at the designated start line - except stand-up paddleboarders who use a shore start. The excitment begins at 6:45 pm as the paddles fly at the sound of the horn.

Derby Division
Follow buoys 1-2-3-4-2-1
When paddling from buoy 3 to 4 go between the islands. Finish between Buoy 1 and the west shoreline.

Racing, Race Solo and Race Kayak Divisions
Follow buoys 1-2-3-4-3-2-1
When paddling from buoy 3 to 4 (or reverse) go between the islands. Finish between Buoy 1 and the west shoreline.

Race SUP Division
Follow buoys 1-2-3-2-1
Shore start for all SUPs. When paddling back from buoy 3 to 2 go between the islands. Finish between Buoy 1 and the west shoreline.

Recreational Division: Canoe, Kayak and Stand-Up Paddleboard

Follow buoys 1-2-5-2-1
Paddle counter-clockwise around the island (5). Finish between Buoy 1 and the west shoreline.

Finish Line
It is important that all boats finish between the orange finish buoy ("1" on the map) and the western shoreline (stay to the right of the finish buoy). This is the only way we can record a time for you. Boats heading straight to the beach and bypassing the finish line will be disqualified (sorry!).
